Carey has been serving as a Financial Planner & Advisor for people just like you since 1987. He has walked people and their portfolios through many ups and downs since then. When he’s not advising on financial and investment matters, he loves a project. Over the past several years he’s completely reconstructed a 16×24′ deck, gutted a master bathroom, built a sound deadening room for his drum kit and more recently, camperized a Mercedes Sprinter van from scratch (100% solar with hot water, shower, etc.), all in his spare time. Of course, downtime is needed. Usually that means at least 3 books on the go (1 at breakfast, 1 at lunch and 1 before bed). All non-fiction because , “Why read fiction when I can watch the movie in about 2 hours?”. The other off hours activities include, staying weight training and less so, running, learning things on YouTube, rehearsing and conversing with Beast & Fish (a 3 piece original music band in which he is the drummer), skiing for a few hours (often alone) on a clear, winter day, enjoying a pint with a “craft beer snob” friend or two, talking philosophy and worldviews (which is a good part of the non-fiction reading), trying to get a laugh and hug out of his 3 granddaughters or travelling with Cheryl for business and / or pleasure. Melissa Aldridge

For Melissa, financial planning has always been about more than numbers, it’s about getting to know people, understanding what matters to them and helping make the complicated feel a little simpler. She has worked in the financial industry since 2012, including advising high-net-worth clients at a global bank, before becoming an independent Certified Financial Planner®. A lover of a good puzzle, Melissa naturally enjoys bringing different pieces together, finding the connections and creating a path forward that makes sense.
Today, Melissa works with individuals, families and business owners to build and protect their wealth and plan for the future. She believes financial planning should feel personal, practical and easy to understand.
Born and raised in Delta, BC, Melissa is a wife and proud mom of two girls. Outside the office, you’ll often find her in the gym, on the soccer field, catching up with a friend on a walk (ideally with a stop at a new café), or planning the family’s next adventure. Rainy weekends usually mean a new puzzle spread across the table, while unwinding might mean a good glass of white wine in the summer or red when the weather gets colder.
Whether with clients, friends or family, Melissa genuinely enjoys getting to know people, hearing their stories and being part of where they’re headed next.
Jen Neufeldt
Your Account Admin & Government Programs Advisor
As our Account Admin Advisor, Jen manages everything from account updates and setting up monthly payments and contributions, to advising on how to maximize the benefits of tax-advantaged government accounts like RESP’s, RRSP’s, RRIF’s etc. Before joining us in September 2021, Jen spent years leading admin teams for dental specialists and major hotel chains – experience that shows in her calm efficiency and client-first approach. Outside the office, Jen embraces a busy and fun-filled life with her teenage kids and partner, Scott. They love cooking and golfing together, travelling, and checking out live music or foodie spots around town. A lifelong South Surrey local, Jen is happiest close to home – sharing wine with her close friend group on the deck, taking long walks in the neighbourhood forests, and connecting with her family on game nights.
Cheryl Vandenberg
Client Connections & Care
Cheryl arranges the sending our clients cards for memorable events, preparing gift baskets and anything else that has to do with making our clients know we are thinking of them. As well, she is the family CFO for Carey and Cheryl’s personal finances as well as their corporation. When not handling the many administrative and accounting functions (including making sure Carey hasn’t missed something as her perfective nature dictates) you will most likely find her painting in her home studio or walking alongside 1 of her 3 granddaughters, navigating their latest challenge or just listening to what they have to tell or show her. As well, she loves attending an art class or just letting her 3 granddaughters or a small group of friends be creative with her. Of course, a very regular exercise routine, coffee, beer or wine sipping with friends or while traveling with Carey, which often includes trying to find unique items to put in client gift baskets, fill much of the rest.
Peggy Sheppard
Mortgage, Debt & Home Equity Income Advisor
Peggy Sheppard has been a mortgage broker and debt management strategist since 2002 and with that deep experience, advises and arranges our client’s financing needs, including Home Equity Lines Of Credit (HELOC) and Reverse Mortgages. Of course, there is more to life than work and when not crunching numbers, she is most likely busy looking for a new recipe to cook or bake or discovering some new culinary adventure to enjoy.
Chris Flynn & Steven Bovencamp
Assisting Financial Advisors
Chris Flynn & Steven Bovencamp are Carey’s two esteemed, very experienced Financial Advisor “back up team members”. They are there to take the reins (if needed), when Carey is out of town (he does the same for them). Chris & Steven can steer through the most complex financial matters and handle any financial transactions. However, because Carey likes to stay in contact all the time, if you email, you’ll probably get a reply back from him first. We didn’t put “ATTENTIVE” as our first commitment word to you, for nothing.
